About Maillardville
Maillardville is Coquitlam's most historically significant neighbourhood, established in 1909 as the first French-Canadian community west of the Rockies by workers recruited to the Fraser Mills sawmill. The neighbourhood's French heritage is preserved through Place Maillardville, annual cultural festivals, and French immersion schools that continue to honour the founding community's language and traditions. Today it is one of Coquitlam's most diverse and walkable neighbourhoods, with great access to the Braid SkyTrain station. Maillardville offers a unique cultural identity and genuine community character that sets it apart in the Tri-Cities.
