About Ioco
Ioco (often incorrectly referred to as "Loco") is Port Moody’s most enigmatic and historic neighborhood. Located on the northern shoreline of the Burrard Inlet, it was originally a self-contained "company town" built for the Imperial Oil Company (the name Ioco is an acronym for Imperial Oil Corporation). Today, it is a designated Heritage Conservation Area and one of the few remaining "ghost town" sites in Metro Vancouver currently poised for a massive modern revival.
